L-5-MTHF | 1000mcg | 60 LozengesSeeking Health
L-5-MTHF Lozenges by Seeking Health provides 1,000 mcg of pure non-racemic l-methyl-folate, a coenzyme form of folate, is a naturally flavoured lozenge format. Folate is a water-soluble B vitamin that occurs naturally in food, such as leafy green vegetables, citrus fruits, dried beans, and peas. L-5-methyl-folate (L-5-MTHF) requires no additional metabolic steps to be used by the body, thus it is often the preferred choice for those with absorption or metabolic defects. L-5-MTHF efficiently supports methylation, DNA biosynthesis, homocysteine metabolism, and nervous system function. L-5-MTHF is easily absorbed and used by cells. It is the predominant folate in circulation and the only folate that can cross the blood-brain barrier.*
When first taking L-methyl-folate, side effects are possible due to inefficient methylation processes, pre-existing inflammation or possible genetic deficiencies. Consult your health care professional for testing to determine the proper dose of L-methyl-folate for your individual needs. Niacin may help to support folate processing, and maybe helpful to have on hand to support the body's metabolism of methyl-folate if side effects occur.*
For a non-methylated form of folate that is still well-absorbed and utilized, consider our Folinic Acid Lozenges or Folinic Acid Capsules. For additional methylation support, consider our Active B12 with L-5-MTHF.
