Vitamin K with D3 (previously Synergy K) by Pure Encapsulations contains both vitamin K and vitamin D which work together in the body. It is often more beneficial to take a combined vitamin D and K supplement than taking either of these as a single supplement.

Vitamin D and K work together to support bone health and indirectly, heart health. Vitamin D increases the absorption of calcium in the blood. However, when there is too much calcium in the blood, rather than going to the bones, it can end up in the blood vessels. This is where vitamin K comes in, as it helps to draw calcium from the blood, and deposit it in the bones, where it is needed. Hence, vitamin D and K taken together is beneficial. Vitamin D has additional benefits through supporting immune health, mental health and may help to reduce the symptoms from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) in the winter. During the winter, we do not obtain enough vitamin D, so a supplement is often beneficial.
